Nicki Clee a fellow designer and friend has been busy creating these fab new designs for Margo Selby! The results are luscious and I love the colour combinations! The designs fit easily into Margo’s current collections.

“Margo Selby is proud to introduce this exciting new fabric in the brand new cross floral design.
Luxurious silk and lycra fibres woven in a double cloth structure to create a 3-dimensional quality. Cleé colourway is a harmonious mixture of purple, olive green, smokey grey, mint, pearl white and grey. ”
The scarf and the cushion can both be purchased on Margo’s website!

“A Fantastic display of vibrant ceramics to inspire and delight those viewing this wonderful collection.”
These pieces by Sara Moorhouse are so impressive, she has just finished showing at Leeds Craft Centre which is an amazing venue.

“Sara, originally from Worksop in Nottinghamshire, makes vessels with vivid colours and linear decoration. Having always been interested in landscapes, a tutor suggested she translate her interest in colour, texture and light onto bowls. She began using the bowls as metaphorical landscapes, using lines of colour in different thickness to convey physical features, evoking feelings experienced when studying the landscape.
The manipulation of line and pure colour are key themes in her work. She plays colours off each other to create an intensity of feeling, emulating David Hockney’s paintings by using colour to draw the viewer physically into the vessel.
Technical Information
The pieces are hand thrown and turned. The movement of the wheel is often reflected in the asymmetrical form. The lines are applied by returning the bisque fired bowl to the wheel and painted with ceramic colour by hand. A matt glaze is then applied to stabilise the coloured surface.”

2009 saw lots of designer/makers create a Christmas decoration:
“The designers of Who’s Who in Gold and Silver have surpassed themselves this year, conjuring a shining array of handmade silver decorations which will add a sparkle to any Christmas tree.
This year’s selection celebrates Christmas birds with eye-catching ‘Dove of Peace’ and ‘Partridge in A Pear Tree’ designs nestling alongside classical snowflake, star and spiral creations. All of the decorations are exquisitely crafted from solid silver and are available from as little as £35.”
I’m thinking about designing a decoration myself but I will have to give it some thought!
