Centrepiece’s Jewellery Designers areopening up their Jewellery Quarter studios this month to give you a glimpse of the life of a working jeweller.
Six studios will be open on the 20th and 21st of May with the designer makers on hand to explain their working practices, talk to through their design ideas and demonstrate their craft.
Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is an exciting and historic area of the city, boasting two museums which explore it’s industrial heritage (The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter andThe Pen Room), a fine collection of independent cafe’s and restaurants (The Urban Coffee Company and The Drop Forge – to name just two) and the great 24 Carrots Farmers Market on the 3rd Saturday of the month (21st of May).

The British Craft Trade show was a great start to the year and I launched my updated catalogue and received some lovely feedback. I’v ebeen so busy I’ve only just managed to get round to popping these photos up! If you were unable to make it here’s what you missed!

The Public Vote determines six finalists in each of six categories. Specialist Invited Judges, together with the craft&design panel, subsequently assess the work of the finalists to establish one Gold Award Winner, two Silver Award Winners and three Finalists in each category, with just one person being awarded the top accolade of craft&design Maker of the Year Award.”

Dazzle is a fantasic selling exhibition of contemporary jewellery, Started in 1981, there are currently four events per year showing a wide variety of hand crafted work. I am thrilled to be exhibiting again!

I’m back at the workshop making some jewellery for a couple of orders and preparing for The British Craft Trade fair. I am making the new pieces in my collection that will available for shops and galleries to order. I’m really excited about offering the new pieces to order as they have proved popular throughout the year.

I have been lucky enough to take a recent trip to The Florida Keys and explore the beautiful surroundings. These are a few of my favourite nature photos and as you can see the weather was a little different from Britain at the moment. The trip was great for finding new inspiration as the wildlife was so different.
