Super Seconds Festival is coming!

Super Seconds Festival is coming!

11th & 12th May 2024 is when I'll be selling lots of my one off handmade sterling silver jewellery on this website. I'm taking part in Super Seconds Festival an online event with lots of other designer makers.

SIGN UP TO MY MAILING LIST FOR EARLY ACCESS!

Super Seconds Festival is your opportunity to pick up an absolute bargain from independent makers from the UK and further afield!

Lots of indie makers have seconds, samples and misprints that just didn't go quite right - normally these would be sold off at in person fairs at bargain prices, but Super Seconds Festival gives you a chance to buy from lots of makers all in one place over one weekend!

Super Seconds Festival (formerly Super Seconds Saturday) is organised by Sophie and Abby.

Why do we love a handmade sterling silver sample sale?

  1. Exceptional Value: Handmade sterling silver sample sale jewellery offers exceptional value for buyers, allowing them to acquire high-quality pieces at discounted prices. Whether it's a prototype design, discontinued style, or a piece with minor imperfections, sample sales provide an opportunity to own artisan-crafted jewellery at a fraction of its original cost.
  2. Unique Finds: Sample sales are treasure troves of unique and one-of-a-kind pieces that may not be available through traditional retail channels. By purchasing from a sample sale, buyers have the chance to discover hidden gems and exclusive designs that showcase the creativity and skill of the artisans.
  3. Supporting Artisan Craftsmanship: Buying handmade sterling silver jewellery from sample sales directly supports independent artisans and small businesses. By investing in their creations, buyers contribute to the preservation of traditional craftsmanship and artisanal skills, fostering a thriving community of makers and creators.
  4. Environmental Consciousness: Sample sales offer a sustainable alternative to conventional retail shopping by repurposing existing inventory and minimising waste. By purchasing from sample sales, buyers participate in a more environmentally conscious shopping experience, reducing the demand for mass-produced items and supporting sustainable practices.
  5. Personal Connection: Handmade jewellery from sample sales often comes with a personal touch, reflecting the individual style and creativity of the artisan. Each piece carries its own story and history, creating a deeper connection between the buyer and the jewellery. Whether it's a unique design or a piece with minor imperfections, handmade sterling silver jewellery from sample sales embodies authenticity and character.

WHERE DID SUPER SECONDS COME FROM?

Sophie from Ink & Bear came up with the idea in September 2020 in the middle of lock down after printing a whole pile of t-shirts that went ever so slightly wrong! She launched the idea 3 weeks before the first Super Seconds event and thought she'd have 10 people joining in with her - by the first Super Seconds there were over 250 makers involved and it's continued to grow from there!

WHEN IS SUPER SECONDS FESTIVAL?

The next Super Seconds Festival will be all online on Sat 11th and Sun 12th May 2024. The festival happens twice a year and the following one will be in September 2024.

Kick off is 10am on Saturday 11th May and after the last seven Super Seconds my top tip would be to be ready to jump on your favourite makers at 10am sharp!

It's often fastest finger first to grab a bargain!

The Makers Line Up will be ready to view 2 weeks before the big weekend!

You can also follow along with the hashtag #supersecondsfestival on Instagram closer to the time to see which makers are taking part. Click on the makers' posts and stories to find out more - it's as simple as that! They'll then direct you to their listings on their website or Etsy/a third party website.

WHAT WILL BE ON OFFER?

There will be lots on offer - from prints, pins, ceramics, t-shirts, jewellery, cards, printed fabric goodies and loads more!
